 Minutes: Laura read the minutes from the January 15th meeting Greg moved to accept Seconded by Cherie – Approved

Business Arising from minutes

Spring Dance: Dry County is booked, waiting on posters and cd for advertising.

Morgan Horse Guy is getting back to Paula.

Demo Derby – everyone wants to go with a derby again.

Hydro Boom Truck – Greg is on it

Teen Dance – ready for Friday

 Treasurer’s Report: -5603.61 is the account balance as of today. Ann-Marie moved to accept seconded by Greg.

 Correspondence:

Allen Insurance letting us know our policy renewal is due the end of March.  Laura is looking into the description of our policy “farm policy”

Band called Picked Fences called from Kingston, service older generation

Carolyn e-mailed some ideas for dance

Trent Hills faxed the ball diamond agreement they have with Campbell ford Ag society.

 New Business

WBA Meeting – Alex thinks we should talk to businesses first individually.  Get them interested and willing to participate and then move forward with the WBA.  Alex would like someone else to approach the businesses with formal letters stating our ideas.

 

Amusements

Alex has found two other walls plus Blackrock climbers. Still looking into this.  Funtastic is the only other option for small rides. 

Mar Newman and Maureen Lennon know have a contact the builds events and challenge obstacle courses.  Looking into. 

 

Idea’s

q       Friday night during set up we should have food available for all our volunteers. Pot luck possibly.

q       Donors to our fair want a specific event they can put a name and a face to.

q       Battlefield – Trenton has a huge BBQ they can offer for free, we pay the propane.

q       “Canadian Tire Tent” free advertising/free tent

q       LCBO/Beer Label umbrella’s and Tables (steel Back/ golden horseshoe)

q       Beer Sponsor for the dance Laura to get a hold of Joel Palmateer

q       Should Incorporate organic into our options for exhibiting, veg & flowers

q       Would like to show environmental farming practices on the grounds. Lenny workman

q       Get roadblocks from Trent hills for the weekend to block off Main Street so tractors and trucks use the lower gate.

 

Long Lunch Weekend – Knights of Valour show

Paula is looking into the costs of having a small show. I.e.  Jesters/Maidens could mingle down the main street advertising the event at 3:00

Tickets – Laura from PP

Schedule – Ann-Marie will do the door schedule. Alex Bar schedule

Food – Pizza from Apollo’s/ Coffee

Wrist Bands  - lots in red building

Cops – Alex

Fencing out a smoking area – Alex will ask the farm supply

Advertising – Dry county sending posters, 95.5,107.1,100.1 will do live advertising with the band.  Book post office window well in advance

 

Truck Show

Cherie moved to close the main gate on Sunday to trucks and tractors seconded by David

Cherie will also be in touch with Bill & Chris with this matter.
